It seemed I was hearing it on a daily basis. “Good luck finding someone to do the work.” I had friends whose projects were pushed out a year or more and I knew people who were quoted the “We don’t really want your business” price. As a business person I saw the opportunity. As a community member, I wanted to help. In an area like Burlington, Vermont with an older housing stock and little room for new construction, the decision was made to focus on remodels, and of course handyman services.
